| Friday, April 3, 2026 | The Provost/VCAA, VCHA, and DGC submit recommendations to the Chancellor, and send notifications to Deans of the recommendations made to the Chancellor. Appeals by P&T Candidates, of recommendations made by the Provost/VCAA, VCHA, and DGC, along with supporting documentation, must be sent to the Office of the Chancellor, chancellor@uic.edu, by the deadline listed below. |

| Friday, May 8, 2026 | Chancellor's notifications sent to P&T Candidates of final decisions or recommendations made to the BOT, regarding Promotion and/or Tenure. |
| Friday, May 22, 2026 | College Coordinators electronically submit appropriately signed and executed Mid-Probationary Reviews to OVPFA, by uploading them into the appropriate Mid-Probationary Review folder in Box. Additionally, all Senior Rank Promotion submissions (Reporting Form & Dean’s Endorsement Memo), in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement, must also be submitted via Box. |
| Mid-to-late June 2026 | HRFE transactions for non-reappointment of faculty with tenure code “2”–“6” being issued a Terminal Contract for the upcoming Academic Year, due to UIC-HR and list of names sent to OVPFA (facultyaffairs@uic.edu). If the faculty resigned, submit a copy of the resignation letter to UIC-HR and OVPFA (with list). A deadline notification will be sent from UIC-HR in June. |
| Wednesday, July 15 - Thursday, July 16, 2026 | Board of Trustees Meeting in which P&T recommendations will be reviewed/approved for tenure system faculty. BOT approval notifications will be sent to tenure system faculty candidates by email in late-August. |

- Assistance for P&T Coordinators
- College Coordinators may request a meeting with the OVPFA Reviews Team for assistance in understanding the process, for completing the dossier, or any other P&T related help. Email facultyreviews@uic.edu to schedule.
- Unit Coordinators needing assistance should first seek assistance and guidance from their College Coordinator(s). If further assistance/guidance is required, both the College Coordinator(s) and the Unit Coordinator must schedule a meeting with the OVPFA Reviews Team together.
- Conflicts of Interest in the P&T Review Process
- Conflicts of interest (CoI) threaten the integrity of the promotion and tenure process. This section highlights the most common forms of conflicts of interest but, if in doubt, please reach out to facultyreviews@uic.edu with any questions.
