UIC New Faculty Orientation
Dear New Faculty Members:
We are delighted that you have chosen to join the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) and our faculty community of internationally recognized educators and scholars. We write to invite you to the 2017 New Faculty Orientation, hosted by the Office of Faculty Affairs on Thursday, August 17 from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
The orientation is an interactive introduction to faculty and student life at UIC, including presentations about a range of central functions, resources, policies, and panel and roundtable discussions with senior faculty mentors. You will also have the opportunity to engage with peers, department heads, deans, and other university leaders. The program will end with a reception for you and a guest, from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. Attendance at the orientation is considered mandatory for tenured and non-tenure-system new faculty, and we hope you will join us for the reception as well.
The New Faculty Orientation will take place in the Illinois Room of Student Center East (SCE) at 750 South Halsted Street, and lunch will be served. The reception will be held in the East Terrace of SCE on the second floor just below. Please consult http://www.uic.edu/depts/meetings/directions.shtml for directions, parking, and transportation options.
Please use the Registration Form to confirm whether you are able to attend. Kindly respond by Friday, July 28, 2017.
UIC is proud to count you among our new faculty and we look forward to welcoming you into our community.

Provost and Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs
