Promotion & Tenure
Promotion and Tenure Seminars
The Office of Faculty Affairs is pleased to offer Promotion and Tenure (P&T) Seminars each spring. These annual events are open to faculty from all parts of campus seeking promotion. It is also open to department heads and chairs, associate deans, mentors, senior faculty serving as paper preparers, and others involved in the P&T process. Each workshop encompasses all disciplines and faculty from any discipline may attend any session. A workshop for underrepresented faculty will also be provided.
The sessions are designed to help faculty members in their plans to seek promotion and will include a review of the relevant promotion and tenure processes. They will cover topics including the mid-probationary review, preparing the dossier, research expectations, teaching, and service. The sessions will offer a valuable opportunity to dialogue with experienced faculty and receive information and advice for potential candidates seeking to position themselves for successful promotion and tenure. Speakers include Vice Provost for Faculty Affairs, Renée Taylor, recent members of the campus P&T committee as well as senior faculty members. All sessions are brown bag events.
