The Teaching Recognition Program (TRP) is UIC's self-nominated, faculty-administered teaching award program.

Offered through the Office of the Provost and Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, the TRP offers a one-time, $1,500 increase to the annual base salary of faculty who have documented their teaching excellence over the past three academic years. All tenured, tenure-track, and non-tenure-track faculty with a demonstrated long-term commitment to teaching at UIC are eligible to apply.

Application Process
Step 1: Submit Intent to Apply
Deadline: Wednesday, September 10, 2025, at 11:59 p.m.
Complete the Intent to Apply form to begin the application process. This form confirms your eligibility for the Teaching Recognition Program (TRP). To qualify, you must:
- Hold a teaching appointment greater than 49% for each of the academic years: 2022-23, 2023-24, and 2024-25
- Be the primary instructor for at least two courses each academic year listed above
Note for College of Medicine Faculty:
Enter your Unit Executive Officer’s (UEO) NetID in the form. The UEO must provide an explanation of your teaching duties exceeding 49%. If your eligibility is not confirmed within 10 business days, please first follow up with your UEO.
Step 2: Eligibility Confirmation
You will receive a Status of Eligibility email in your UIC inbox.
- If eligible, this email will include a link to download the application form and instructions to submit.
Step 3: Submit Your Application
Deadline: Friday, October 10, 2025, at 11:59 p.m.
- Submit your completed application through the link in your eligibility email
- Upload a single PDF file titled: LastName_FirstName_TRP Application [Academic Year]
- You will receive a confirmation message once submitted
- Late submissions will not be accepted
