Mike Stieff, Vice Provost for Faculty Affairs
The Vice Provost for Faculty Affairs (VPFA) provides leadership to the University, and support to the Provost on issues related to faculty. This position reports to the Provost and is a member of the Provost’s Leadership Team. The VPFA serves as the Provost’s liaison to the University Promotion and Tenure Committee and is responsible for coordinating the committee’s work. The portfolio of the VPFA also includes promotion and tenure policies; faculty orientation, mentoring, and career development programs; mentoring programs for academic administrators; programs to recruit and retain underrepresented faculty; programs to enhance teaching; and sabbaticals, emeritus appointments and faculty awards.
