Friday, April 4, 2025The Provost/VCAA, VCHA, and DGC submit recommendations to the Chancellor, and send notifications to Deans of the recommendations made to the Chancellor.

Appeals by P&T Candidates, of recommendations made by the Provost/VCAA, VCHA, and DGC, along with supporting documentation, must be sent to the Office of the Chancellor, chancellor@uic.edu, by the deadline listed below.

Wednesday, April 16, 2025Provost/VCAA, VCHA, DGC, VPFA Debriefing Meeting with Chancellor.
Friday, May 9, 2025Chancellor's notifications sent to P&T Candidates of final decisions or recommendations made to the BOT, regarding Promotion and/or Tenure.
Friday, May 23, 2025College Coordinators electronically submit appropriately signed and executed Mid-Probationary Reviews to OVPFA, by uploading them into the appropriate Mid-Probationary Review folder in Box.

Additionally, all Senior Rank Promotion submissions (Reporting Form & Dean’s Endorsement Memo), in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement, must also be submitted via Box.
Mid-to-late June 2025HRFE transactions for non-reappointment of faculty with tenure code “2”–“6” being issued a Terminal Contract for the upcoming Academic Year, due to UIC-HR and list of names sent to OVPFA. If the faculty resigned, submit a copy of the resignation letter to UIC-HR and OVPFA (with list). A deadline notification will be sent from UIC-HR in June.
Wednesday, July 16 - Thursday, July 17, 2025Board of Trustees Meeting in which P&T recommendations will be reviewed/approved for tenure system faculty. BOT approval notifications will be sent to tenure system faculty candidates by email in late-August.

University P&T Committee Organizational Meeting with the Provost and Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs (VCAA), Vice Chancellor for Health Affairs (VCHA), Dean of the Graduate College (DGC), and Vice Provost for Faculty Affairs (VPFA).
Monday, January 5, 2026Colleges Coordinators must submit Dossiers and Preparer/Coordinator Checklists for all P&T Candidates. The dossier forms and checklists should be submitted separately.
Mid-to-late January, 2026Human Resources Front End (HRFE) transactions for the non-reappointment of faculty with tenure code “1” due in Office of the Vice Provost Faculty Affairs (OVPFA). E-mail notifications will be sent from OVPFA in January with the deadline date once set by the Board of Trustees (BOT).
