The Faculty Awards Ceremony and Reception is an event hosted every fall by the Provost’s Office and Office of Faculty Affairs. Faculty are recognized for UIC Distinguished Professor, University Scholars, Award for Excellence in Teaching , Teaching Recognition Program Award, Graduate College Mentoring Award, Faculty Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Award, Community Engagement Award, Global Engagement Faculty Award, Interprofessional Teaching in Action Matters I-TEAM Award, and various External Awards.

Each year, the University of Illinois Chicago (UIC) hosts a celebration to honor the excellence of our faculty. The awards presented today honor individuals who have been instrumental in shaping the intellectual and cultural character of our university.
Faculty members are recognized in ten categories: the Award for Excellence in Teaching; the Teaching Recognition Program; the Graduate College Mentoring Award; the Interprofessional Teaching in Action Matters (I-TEAM) Award; the Global Engagement Award; the Faculty, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Award; the Community Engagement Award; UIC Distinguished Professors; University Scholars, and major awards from external agencies and societies.
UIC is privileged to be joined by the University of Illinois System’s leadership including President Tim Killeen, who are also here to congratulate the scholars and teachers recognized in these pages.
The accomplishments of our outstanding faculty members and their innovative contributions to research, teaching and service, bring distinction to our university and form the foundation of our mission.
